What Is A Peter Putter? A Peter Putter is a golf putter that is in the shape of a penis. In other words, the club head (where the ball makes contact with the club) is shaped like a male’s genitals. According to Google Trends, the Peter Putter has picked up in popularity over the past 12 months, mainly on social media.
Is The Peter Putter USGA Legal? According to the USGA and R&A, the Peter Putter is not legal to use for any casual, high-level amateur, or professional golf games. This is mainly due to the “plain in shape” rule for putter club heads.
More specifically, this rule states:
“The clubhead must be generally plain in shape. All parts must be rigid,
structural in nature and functional. The clubhead or its parts must not be
designed to resemble any other object.”

So, because the Peter Putter resembles an object that is not a traditional putter, it is deemed illegal to use.

Below is an image of other putters that are deemed “non-conforming” according to the USGA.
As you can see, both of these putters are made to look like other objects, which make them illegal to use in any game of golf.
