Aldila ROGUE Silver 60 Swing Speed

The Aldila ROGUE driver shafts are available in the 130M.S.I. and the 2nd generation 110M.S.I.  The ROGUEs are categorized by weight, with the Silver 60 shafts weighing between 60 and 69 grams (2.1 and 2.4 oz).

The Aldila ROGUE Silver 60 can accommodate swing speeds above 80 mph (129 kph). You can choose from the available regular, stiff, and x-stiff flex based on your swing speed. For swing speeds below 81 mph (130 kph), try the Aldila QUARANTA Sapphire in an A flex.

Read on to learn which shaft and flex best fit your swing speed.

Flex and Swing Speed

Your swing speed is the best way to determine the shaft flex that is best for you. Flex is not standardized, and each brand has its categorization. You may need a regular flex shaft in one brand and a stiff one in another. That is why swing speed is a better way to determine the right shaft for you.

Both the first and second generations of the ROGUE Silver 60 have three different flexes: regular, stiff, and x-stiff, and you should choose the one that suits your swing speed.

Swing Speeds Between 81 and 90 Miles per Hour

The Aldila regular flex is best for you if your swing speed falls between 81 and 90 mph (130-145 kph). This is the most flexible ROGUE Silver shaft available, which helps provide less resistance. With less resistance, it will maximize your swing speed.

The flexes for each club are as follows.

  • ROGUE Silver 130 MSI 60 (TR Flex)
  • 2nd Gen. ROGUE Silver 110 MSI 60 (R Flex)

Swing Speeds Between 91 and 105 Miles per Hour

Players with swing speeds between 91 and 105 mph (146-169 kph) will need a stiff flex. This shaft has enough give to slightly reduce resistance while maintaining control.

The flexes for each club are the following.

  • ROGUE Silver 130 MSI 60 (TS Flex)
  • 2nd Gen. ROGUE Silver 110 MSI 60 (S Flex)

Swing Speeds Above 105 Miles per Hour

You will need an extra-stiff flex if your swing speed is above 105 mph (169 kph). Playing with an extra-stiff flex is so important for players with fast swing speeds because it gives you maximum control over the ball. Lower flex clubs will bend too much at high swing speeds, giving you little control over the contact with the ball.

The flexes for each club are as follows.

  • ROGUE Silver 130 MSI 60 (TX Flex)
  • 2nd Gen. ROGUE Silver 110 MSI 60 (X Flex)

Swing Speed Below 81 Miles per Hour

You need a softer flex if you have a swing speed lower than 81 mph (130 kph). Lower flexes are called ladies and senior flex or amateur flex. Unfortunately, the Aldila ROGUE does not offer those flexes.

The closest shaft available from Aldila is the QUARANTA Sapphire 40 A flex. It is lighter than the ROGUE Silver 60 at 47 grams (1.6 oz) and is a mid-launch and mid-spin shaft.

Final Thoughts

The Aldila ROGUE Silver 60 can accommodate players with a swing speed above 80 mph (129 kph.

The shaft comes in three flexes: regular, stiff, and x-stiff. Your swing speed determines which flex is right for you. People with lower swing speeds need to pick up more flexible shafts. The ROGUE is not for you if your swing speed is below 81 mph (130 kph). Take a look at the QUARANTA Sapphire in an A flex instead.
