I have recently been looking at Golf Galaxy’s products and services and realized that there isn’t much information out there. So I gathered a bunch of questions and contacted Golf Galaxy’s customer service to find out the answers to all of these questions.
After speaking with 2 customer service representatives, these are the official answers they provided me.
Does Golf Galaxy Rent Clubs?
Currently, Golf Galaxy does not rent clubs to their customers.
So, if you are someone who needs golf clubs for a short period of time, and don’t want to commit to buying a full set of new or used clubs, you won’t be able to. Whether it is for a round or two or a weekend outing, unfortunately, they do not have any options for customers to rent their golf clubs.
Does Golf Galaxy Give Military Discounts?
No, Golf Galaxy does not give military discounts.
This is pretty interesting as there are many other golf retail stores that do offer the military discount. According to the customer service representative, they are currently in the process of exploring different discounts to provide their customers, but the military discount is not offered there.
Does Golf Galaxy Have A Credit Card?
Yes, Golf Galaxy offers their “ScoreRewards” credit card, provided through Mastercard.
This means that if you frequently shop at Golf Galaxy, you will be able to earn rewards on your purchases in their stores. Currently, they offer 2 points for every $1 spent in store. 300 points will get you a $10 reward. This means that for every $150 you spend (either in-store or online) you will get $10 back.
Does Golf Galaxy Have Layaway?
Yes, Golf Galaxy does offer special financing and layaway for their customers. You can arrange this with your local store and they will set up everything you will need.
Does Golf Galaxy Offer Golfing Lessons?
According to the customer service representative at Golf Galaxy, they do not offer any lessons in their stores. This means that you will have to look elsewhere if you want to take golf lessons.
I was quite surprised to see that they do not offer any lessons at their locations. Having been at many Golf Galaxy locations, they have more than enough equipment to provide good golf lessons. Not only that, but most of their staff have enough golf experience to administer lessons as well.
Does Golf Galaxy Buy Used Clubs?
Technically, Golf Galaxy doesn’t buy used clubs, they allow you to trade in your used clubs for store credit. Depending on the quality, age, brand, and popularity of the used clubs you are looking to trade in, the amount of store credit you will receive will vary.
How Many Golf Galaxy Locations Are There?
Currently, there are 99 Golf Galaxy locations in the United States.
This is more than double the amount of PGA Superstores there are in the US (there are about 40 PGA Superstores in the US). This is likely why they have more brand recognition. Being apart of Dick’s Sporting goods has likely helped them expand throughout the country.
