KBS Tour 130X and Dynamic Gold X100 are two of the most popular shafts for golfers looking for mid-trajectory, easy feel, and shot control. So, how do they compare with each other, and which one should you choose?

KBS 130X creates piercing flight and mid-trajectory. Golfers prefer this shaft because of its overall smooth and easy feel and great shot control. Dynamic Gold X100 is a mid-low launch shaft with tour-level performance, making it the best choice for many golfers.

Despite the similarities between KBS Tour 130X and Dynamic Gold X100, some differences can significantly affect your decision to choose one. If you want to know which shafts will be perfect for you, keep reading.

Pros and Cons of the KBS Tour 130X

  • It feels stable and smooth. I prefer using a shaft that feels stable, especially when I’m out of position because it doesn’t twist in my hands.
  • It creates excellent shot controllability. When I tested the KBS Tour 130X, it had around 5500 RPM, making it much easier to control when it hit the greens.
  • It provides excellent consistency with your shots. I get minimal variance in the results during my tests with this shaft. If you use it, you can expect consistent shots with it.

The KBS Tour 130X has several advantages that will make you want to put it in your bag. However, there are also some disadvantages to it, including the following:

  • It’s quite heavy and may not be a sweet spot for many golfers. If you switch from other performance shafts, the KBS Tour 130X may feel heavier in exchange for its stability.
  • The stiffness may be unappealing for some golfers. It feels too stiff at times, which is more of a personal preference than performance.

Pros and Cons of the Dynamic Gold X100

  • It has great shot controllability. I got the same RPM with DG X100 at around 5500, giving me better control of my shots.
  • It creates a great launch angle. The launch angle from DG X100 is slightly better but very close to what I got with the KBS Tour 130X.

The DG X100 is an excellent choice for many golfers, but you may want to look closer at the disadvantages that you may experience when using it, including the following:

  • There’s some movement with DG X100, but still stable. The Dynamic Gold X100 also feels stable, but some movement with the shots makes it feel a little uncomfortable when I’m out of position.
  • It feels heavy despite being softer. The KBS Tour 130X and DG X100 have similar weights, but DG X100 feels a little less stable.

Conclusion

KBS Tour 130X and Dynamic Gold X100 are perfect for low-launching golfers and can provide you with exceptional shot control. The biggest difference is their softness—the movement during shots.

Some golfers prefer movement with their shafts, while others, like me, prefer to use a solid shaft that doesn’t move around a lot. The tests from both shafts are very similar, meaning either shaft will provide you with excellent performance. It all boils down to what you personally prefer with your shafts.
