Product Lines: KBS vs True Temper

When browsing both brands, it’s important to know what kind of product variety each has. If you’re someone who likes many options, then product variety is going to be a big factor for you. I took a look at how many different product lines each brand has.

In total, KBS has 31 product lines whereas True Temper has 22 product lines. Generally speaking, this means that KBS has more products to pick from compared to True Temper. Well they both offer more golf shafts than one person could ever need, it is something to consider if you want different options to pick from.

So, it is clear that from a product variety standpoint, KBS is much better than True Temper.

Price: KBS vs True Temper

Another major consideration factor when comparing both of these brands is price. While golf is an expensive sport, there are some players who are price conscious. It’s good to know what the price ranges for both of these brands are before you go and buy.

I took a look at the price ranges and it appears that True Temper generally carries more affordable shafts. KBS, while they do have affordable options, also carry much more expensive options.

So if you are someone who considers themselves a price conscious shopper, then True Temper is likely going to have the shafts that are better for you. If you are someone that doesn’t mind spending money on high price items, then KBS will also have options for you.

Material: KBS vs True Temper

I wanted to have a look to see what kind of material both brands make their shafts out of. It was quickly apparent that both brands used two different materials to create their shafts.

Depending on the shaft, both brands use either graphite or steel. These are the most common materials that are used to make golf shafts. This isn’t surprising.  Depending on what club you are using the shaft with will be the deciding factor in what material you buy.

USGA Legal: KBS vs True Temper

Something that is important to know before you go purchasing or using either brand’s shafts is if they are legal or not. The USGA and R&A have very strict equipment rules. If a piece of equipment breaks any rule, it will be considered illegal.

After checking the equipment rules, both of these brands offer legal equipment. This means that you could use their equipment in any casual, high-level amateur, or professional golf outings or games.
