Flex: Recoil Dart vs ESX
One of the first differences between the dart and the ESX is the flex options. Both offer senior, regular, and stiff flex options. However the ESX offers an additional flex option which is not available with the dart. This additional flex option is the ladies flex. Generally speaking, ladies flex is better for those who have below average swing speeds.
If you have below average swing speeds, then the ESX may be a better option for you. Otherwise both of these shafts have the same exact flex options.
Weight: Recoil Dart vs ESX
Another difference between these two is their weight options. The dart offers heavier weight options and the ESX offers lighter weight options. For the most part, lighter shafts are easier to swing and generate distance on. Heavier shafts are easier to control.
If you are looking for lighter weight options, then the ESX is better for you. However if you’re looking for heavier options the dart is better for you.
Launch: Recoil Dart vs ESX
Another difference between these two is the launch options. The dart has mid launch and the ESX has high launch. With mid launch, offered by the dart, you should expect to get some height off of the tee, and you should also expect to get a good amount of distance off of the tee as well. With the high launch, you should expect to get much more height under the ball. In other words you’ll see an increase in the Apex of your shot.
Length: Recoil Dart vs ESX
There is also a slight difference in the overall length. The dart only has a 41 inch option whereas the ESX has both 40 and 41 inch options. This inch difference will likely not make an impact on your performance, however if you are used to using 40 inch length, then the ESX is better for you.
The USGA has a limit of 46 inches for golf shafts. If anything exceeds this limit then it is considered to be illegal. Neither the Dart nor the ESX exceed this limit.
USGA Legal: Recoil Dart vs ESX
It is important to know whether or not the golf shaft you are looking at is legal. The USGA has very strict equipment rules. According to the USGA both of these golf shafts are considered legal..
