Throughout the years, TaylorMade has created countless products that have dominated the market. Many golfers have become huge fans of specific TaylorMade products and the Reax 65 shaft was no different. Despite being released over a decade ago, the Taylormade Reax 65 shaft still generates considerable demand from avid fans.
However, where can you find this shaft? What are the specs? Many fans are wondering exactly what happened to this shaft. So, to figure out exactly what happened to this shaft and if TaylorMade even makes this shaft anymore, I contacted their customer service and got to the bottom of the Reax 65 shaft.
What happened to the TaylorMade Reax 65 shaft? According to their customer service, the TaylorMade Reax 65 shaft is no longer sold by TaylorMade. Any clubhead that did have this shaft is now sold with a different TaylorMade shaft.
Which Golf Clubs Had The Reax 65 Shaft
There were only a few articles that I could find that were originally paired with the Reax 65 shaft. These clubs are among TaylorMade most popular products, so it makes sense why they included this new and innovative shaft. Below are the 3 clubs that had the Reax 65 shaft:
- TaylorMade RSi 1 Irons
- TaylorMade M2 fairway woods
- TaylorMade R7 driver
Once TaylorMade started designing newer shafts that were more catering to their customers, they phased out the Reax 65 shaft and replaced it with newer shafts. This isn’t too uncommon. As golf technology continues to develop, brands will begin to replace the older, more obsolete, equipment.
It seems that with the Reax 65 shaft, TaylorMade has stopped their manufacturing contract, thus ending any sales of the TaylorMade version of the shaft.
Is The TaylorMade Reax 65 The Same As Fujikura Reax 65?
If you try to search for the TaylorMade Reax 65 shaft, you will likely only find information on the Fujikura Reax 65 shaft. It is a bit confusing because they both share the same product name, but they are from totally different brands. If you were a bit confused by this, let me try to clear it up.
When a company, like TaylorMade, is creating a new product, they have the option to outsource certain aspects of the product to another company that specializes in that feature. So, in this case, TaylorMade did outsource the manufacturing of this shaft to Fujikura. However, once TaylorMade decided not to use the shaft on their clubheads any more, it appears that Fujikura kept the name but are selling it under their brand instead.
From what it appears, the Fujikura Reax 65 is the same one as the TaylorMade Reax 65, but just under their name.
TaylorMade Reax 65 Shaft Specs
Currently, there is no listing for the TaylorMade Reax 65. In other words, TaylorMade does not have an active page with the details about this shaft. However, given the fact that Fujikura made this shaft, and it’s still available on their site, the spec information is still available.
Below are the specs for the Taylormade Reax 65 Shaft:

Where Can You Buy The TaylorMade Reax 65 Shaft?
As mentioned above, TaylorMade no longer sells this shaft, but there are two places where I’ve found the shaft online. One place is directly on Fujikura’s website. Although this is not the TaylorMade branded version, it is essentially the same shaft.
The second place you are likely to find the TaylorMade version of this shaft is on eBay. The only real way to get this version of the shaft is through second hand purchasing. In other words, the only real way to get this shaft is from another golfer who has already used the shaft.
Final Thoughts: TaylorMade Reax 65 Shaft
TaylorMade decided to pull the plug on their Reax 65 shaft, meaning that is no longer available for purchase. However, as stated above, there are still plenty of second hand clubs with this shaft. While you may have to do some digging, it is still possible to acquire this shaft.
Something to note is that there are plenty of other shafts available that have similar specs to this shafts. In fact, there are many shafts out there that offer better features than the Reax 65. So, if you are buying this club for its performance features, you should have a look elsewhere as you’ll likely be able to find something more readily available for purchase.
But, if you are buying this shaft for the sake of nostalgia or just to have a discontinued shaft on hand, then by all means, try to find one and buy it. It could be a great conversation topic the next time you are chatting with someone on the course.
