The Tensei CK and CK Pro are two different product lines made by Mitsubishi. Technically speaking, the CK is the predecessor of the CK pro. More specifically, the CK was released well before the CK Pro. With these two product lines being some of the most popular among Mitsubishi‘s Arsenal, many people want to know what the differences are.
I contacted Mitsubishi‘s customer service to figure out exactly what the differences are between the CK and CK pro.
Tensei CK | Tensei CK Pro | |
Material | Carbon Kevlar, Boron, MR70 Fibers | Standard Carbon |
Flex | Regular | Stiff |
What are the main differences between the Tensei CK and Tensei CK Pro? According to a Mitsubishi customer service representative, there are a few differences between the CK and CK Pro. The main difference being the material.
Below is the quote from the customer service representative:
“The Pro Version has an extended Carbon Kevlar Weave in the butt section, as well as Tip Reinforcement with Boron or MR70 Fibers. The Pro Version will play slightly stiffer than its CK counterparts. Exotic materials will create more consistency, feel, and energy transfer.”
Essentially, it appears as though the CK Pro has the similar specs to the CK, with the only difference being that they are made out of a higher grade material and have stiffer shaft options.
Are Tensei CK and CK Pro Shafts Legal?
Now that we know what the differences are between the CK and CK pro, it’s important to see if they are legal to use in a game of golf. Believe it or not, the USGA has an Extensive list of rules that must be followed. If a piece of golf equipment does not follow these rules then it is considered illegal.
According to the rules of the USGA, both the CK and CK pro are legal to use in any casual, high-level amateur, or professional golf games.
